Privacy Policy

Last updated: date to be added at release · Version 1.0

Stop Motion Maker is built to work on your device. We don't collect your photos, recordings, movies or any personal information.

1.The short version

  • No account or sign-in is needed.
  • Your photos, voice recordings, imported sounds and movies stay on your device.
  • The app doesn't send data to us or to anyone else. It has no advertising, no analytics and no tracking tools.
  • Your movie only leaves your device when you choose to save or share it.

2.Who we are

Stop Motion Maker (the “app”) is published by the publisher of Stop Motion Maker (“we”, “us”). Questions about this policy can be sent to the contact details on the app's store listing. You can also read this policy online at https://stopmotionmaker.roxlabhq.com/privacy.

3.What the app stores, and where

To let you make movies, the app creates the following on your device. All of it is kept in the app's private storage and is never uploaded by the app:

  • Photos you take with the in-app camera (the frames of your movie).
  • Voice recordings you make as narration.
  • Audio files you choose to import. The app copies the file you select into your project; it cannot see your other files.
  • Project details such as the movie name, frame order, speed, title card text and sound settings.
  • Temporary files while a movie is being exported. These are cleared automatically.

4.What we collect

Nothing. We do not receive your photos, recordings, movies or project details, and the app does not collect your name, email address, location, contacts, advertising identifier or device identifiers.

The app does not contain advertising or analytics code, does not use third-party tracking tools, and does not make network connections to send data anywhere. It works without an internet connection.

5.Permissions the app asks for

  • Camera: to take the photos for your movie. Asked the first time you open the camera screen.
  • Microphone: only when you tap Record to add your voice. The microphone is not used at any other time.
  • Photos (iPhone and iPad): “add only” access, requested only when you tap Save to Photos. The app does not read your photo library.
  • Saving on Android: finished movies are saved to the Movies folder through the system without needing storage permissions.
  • Choosing music: you pick a file with the system file picker; no broader file access is requested.

6.Saving and sharing your movies

When you tap Save, the movie is written to Photos (iPhone and iPad) or to your device's Movies folder (Android). When you tap Share, your device's share sheet opens and you choose where the movie goes. Once a movie is saved or shared, it is in your hands and in the hands of whoever you send it to; the privacy practices of the app or service you choose apply to it.

Please think about who and what appears in your photos and movies, and who you send them to. The app does not request your location and re-encodes photos it takes, so frames are designed not to carry location information from the camera.

7.Apple, Google and other providers

You buy the app through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Those companies process your payment and account details under their own privacy policies. They may give us summary information such as sales figures, or crash reports if you have chosen to share diagnostics with developers. We do not receive your personal content through them.

8.Children

The app is designed for families and for people making their first movies. It has no accounts, chat, social features, advertising or links to outside websites, and it does not collect personal information from anyone, including children. We recommend that a parent or guardian supervises younger children, especially when saving or sharing a movie.

Which store category, age rating and legal requirements apply to the app depends on how it is listed in your country.

9.Backups and security

Your projects are stored in the app's private area on your device, which other apps cannot normally read. Because we never receive your projects, we cannot recover them if your device is lost or the app is deleted.

On iPhone and iPad, app data may be included in your device backups (for example iCloud or computer backups) depending on your own device settings. On Android, the app opts out of automatic app backups. We recommend using a screen lock and saving movies you want to keep.

10.Keeping and deleting your data

  • Delete a movie inside the app to permanently remove its photos and sounds from your device.
  • Uninstalling the app removes all of its project data from your device.
  • Movies you have saved to Photos or the Movies folder, or sent to others, are separate copies. Delete them yourself if you no longer want them.

11.Your rights

Because we do not hold your personal information, there is nothing on our side to access, correct or delete. Depending on where you live you may have rights about personal data held by others; you can contact the contact details on the app's store listing with any question.

12.Changes to this policy

If the app changes in a way that affects your privacy, for example by adding online features, we will update this policy before that version is released and, where the law requires it, ask for your permission. The date at the top shows when this policy was last updated.
